For now, yes, at least until we can come up with better energy resources. As for the recent disaster, accidents happen. Some are small, some are catastrophic, but they have happened and will continue to happen.
The only thing that bothers me is that no one in this latest incident had a contingency plan. If you're going to do something like offshore drilling, which in itself is already very dangerous, you should ALWAYS have specialists standing by for a Worst-Case-Scenario backup plan.
To brief offshore oil drilling can be safe if guidelines are followed. The oil industry ha lobbied to reduce or eliminate regulations in the USA that would be criminal in Europe. The myth of cheap domestic oil based of offshore drilling should not over shadow strict adherence to safety.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
