As of the 2008 season, the University of Kentucky has won two SEC championships. In 1950, under Bear Bryant, they were SEC champs with a 5-1 conference record (11-1 overall record). Their only loss was to Tennessee, 7-0, in Knoxville.

The Wildcats were SEC co-champions (with Georgia) in 1976, under Fran Curci, with a 5-1 conference record (9-3 overall record) Ironically, their only conference loss was to Georgia by the score of 31-7.
