Atheism in itself is a paradigm of moral silence. Those who subscribe to atheistic beliefs can only assign principles of justice that come out of a consensus of personal preference. That is why they can observe 50 million unborn children being butchered in the womb and do nothing.
They prefer sexual liberty to justice for the unborn. Within the belief system of atheism, both the suicide bomber and his innocent victims merely suffer the fate of oblivion. People who observe and survive such an attack may be horrified by it, but there is ultimately no justice for the innocent.
Thus those who have come to despair of life or who wish to sacrifice their life for the cause of jihad, ultimately have no incentive not to do so. In fact, their memory in this world will often be glorified to attain a sort of immortality in the minds of others.
I think you need to spend a time investigating viewpoints that you find vile. I know it's uncomfortable and difficult, but the returns in terms of wisdom are great. Every single time I've decided that a person I knew was unworthy of mercy of any kind, I later came into knowledge of that person's history and suffering that made me weep out of shame for my lack of compassion.
Those who do harm are harming themselves too, (especially obvious with a suicide bomber) but they can't see it. No one dies in triumph, unless their death is saving others.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
