Music today is mainly artificially produced. Bands / groups are selected by music producers, given a name, given music to sing and more importantly given an imagine that certain groups can bond with. Most bands that play bars, clubs, universities, etc.. unfortunately won't be gambled on by the money making record studios.
That's why a lot of talented people and groups fail to make it into the music charts we hear today.
How about Pete Waterman, apparently he attended Whitley Abbey Comprehensive School. But was he not a middle aged music executive producing pap for kids to sing to be bought by kids? Private/Public school nothing to do with it!
But I agree music now not a patch on 90s. But 80s? There was a lot of rubbish around then as well as some good stuff.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
