How many part time hours can I work in CA and still receive my unemployment benefits? How much will they take out?

I live in California and have the opportunity to take on a part time job that may lead to full time employment in the future. Until it does turn full time I would like to know the max number of hours I can work without losing my benefits all together. Also I would like to know how much they will take out of my UI claim if I am to take this job.

Thanks! Amber Asked by amhoss 31 months ago Similar questions: part time hours work CA receive unemployment benefits Business > Jobs.

I believe they judge it more on the wages earned. I believe they judge it more on the wages earned. If you work part time they will deduct the wages some from your WBA.

Not sure what the number would be for part time..maybe no more then 24 hours(3 days of work) really not sure about the total amount of hours you can work. Sources: blurtit.com/q783115.html .

Employment Insurance (EI) and Regular Benefits. Employment Insurance (EI) and Regular Benefits. Who is eligible?

Regular benefits can be paid if you lose your job through no fault of your own, for example, due to shortage of work, seasonal or mass lay-offs and you are available for and able to work but you can’t find a job. To be eligible for regular benefits you must show that: * you have been without work and without pay for at least 7 consecutive days; and * in the last 52 weeks or since your last claim, this period is called the qualifying period, you have worked for the required number of insurable hours. The hours are based on where you live and the unemployment rate in your economic region at the time of filing your claim for benefits.

If you voluntarily quit your job without just cause or if you are fired due to your own misconduct, you will not be paid regular benefits. To know more on quitting your job or being fired for misconduct...topQualifying periodThe qualifying period is the shorter of : * the 52-week period immediately before the start date of a claim, or * the period since the start of a previous EI claim if that claim had started during the 52 week-period. Only the insurable hours that fall within the qualifying period are used to start a benefit period.

However, the qualifying period may be extended up to 104 weeks if you were not employed in insurable employment and not receiving EI because you were: * incapable of work by reason of illness, injury, quarantine or pregnancy; or * confined in a jail, penitentiary or other similar institution; or * attending a course of instruction or other related employment activity to which you were referred to by an Human Resources and Social Development Canada (HRSDC) designated authority; or * not working because you were receiving a payment under a provincial law on the basis of having ceased work because continuing to work would have entailed danger to you, your unborn child or a child you were breast feeding. If one of these reasons applies to you, it is your responsibility to request the extension of your qualifying period and to provide all supporting documents. TopMaybe your old EI claim just needs to be reactivatedIf you filed a claim for benefits within the last 52 weeks, you may be able to reactivate this claim. To reactivate your claim, please submit an application online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, anywhere you have Internet access, or during business hours at your Service Canada Centre.

However, in certain situations it may be to your advantage to cancel or end your old claim and start a new one instead. If you are interested in doing so, please contact us within 30 days.To know more on the duration of a benefit period...t Sources: www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/ei/types/regular.shtml - 73k - .

1 No. Employment is employment, and you will lose your unemployment benefits (hence the term: "unemployed"). This user has been banned from Askville.

3 You can work part time, your benefits are based on your 'earnings'.. So, the EDD office subtracts 25% of what you earned. If you made $100.00 for the week, less 25%.. they would only deduct $75.00 from your weekly amount. IF you make more than your weekly amount, (minus 25%) you wouldn't be paid for that week.

However, by not getting paid for that week, it 'extends' your benefit weeks. Normally, you are eligible for 26 weeks, you are paid until all benefits EXPIRE...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
