How many people have received military training or have been involved armed combat?

As being a Finn how has done military service to becoming a solder in reserve, I just wonder how much military training and military service has been experienced by the current humanity. I was in the U.S. Army I know many people won't agree or even understand this, but I think serving in the military is one of the most rewarding things people can do. Especially in the United States, the military can give you some really great training, build you up physically and mentally, instill a great sense of confidence in you, and give you great opportunities to travel and broaden the mind. Plus, they pay you for it.It's a really good deal.

Now I know because of the war in Iraq many people would be hesitant about joining, but put in perspective I think everyone who has any interest in serving their country and paying it back for everything it provides should consider military service. It's hard to say what the figures are worldwide, but right now only about 1% of the population is serving in the U.S. Armed forces. Some other stats:During the Vietnam War, four percent of the general population served in the military.

During World War II, fully twelve percent of our people served. There are currently about 23,976,000 living veterans in the U.S. , which is less than 8% of the total population. Now, I can't find figures for the entire world, but remember that many countries have mandatory service for all males.

So outside the U.S. , it wouldn't be too surprising if 15% - 20% had served in the armed forces of their country. So there are probably over half a billion people in the world who have served in the military somewhere at some point. I hope that helps!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
