The figures seem to have been revised downward in 2000 archives.gov/research/korean-war/electro... Here's an interesting break down of the totals to start us off, with names of those in each category. Sorry, haven't browsed thru it, but thought you might find it of interest. I guess it also depends on whether you're talking about total or just those on one side or the other.

CNN reported in 2000 that the PEntagon had revised the number of US soldier deaths from 54,246 to 36,940. They blame it on clerical errors, according to Time Magainze, which may have done the original story upon which CNN was commenting. The 20,617 difference did include deaths during that time, but to nonbattlefield deaths.

Only 3,275 of those deaths even occured in Korea, apparantly. Source: archives.cnn.com/2000/US/06/04/korea.dea... members.aol.com/usregistry/allwars.htm uses the unrevised total, adding that there were 103,284 wounded during the war, too. I'm wondering if that hasn't been revised, too, but not finding any figures to confirm or deny those figures.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
