Much more than you'd ever expect. In the old days, fuel pumps cost $12.95 and could be replaced in 3 minutes. Nowdays they cost $299 and replacing them can take hours.

Figure about $400 to $700. It can eb a nasty job, requiring the unbolting of exhaust systems, trailing link arms, sway bars, unhooking a dozen hoses, undoing rusted straps, crud falling on your face, and the possibility of turning into the Human Torch.
