Mine was in the $25-$30 range, I think. But it might have been marked down in a sale, so maybe it was once priced double that. It's fine as a small office shredder.
Unless you plan to nature.com/news/2007/070508/full/news070... seriously annoy the German government (or similar body) you shouldn't need anything too sophisticated. The main thing to think about is convenience... being able to shred plenty of sheets at once, and keep going for as long as you're likely to need to without the thing overheating.
Look at capabilities before considering price. Strip-cut shredders cut into simple vertical strips can be reconstructed into the original documents - not easy but possible and if the reward is that someone sees your important private details you may want better - cross cut is normally good enough for home/office use, cuts in both directions, into little squares. Next you need to think about how many pages you need to shred.
If its just a few sheets daily no problem but if you need to shred a filing cabinet full you'll need one that can handle lots of pages at once, whereas inexpensive shredders may only handle 10 or fewer pages at a time. The $15000 kit will probably grind the paper very small and will handle very large quantities.
A paper shredder is not a must at home while it can be more useful at the office. Any paper shredders is good as long as it durable and shreds paper properly enough. Choosing a paper shredder will depend on what material and range paper size you will be using, and how fast you want it to shred.
If you will be shredding paper after paper frequently, it is better to have a fast shredder so as not to wait to much. Also, keep into consideration what documents you will be shredding; more important documents need to be split into a decent number of pieces for safety reason. Some types of shredders are listed below: Strip-cut shredders cut paper into narrow strips and are among the least secure ones.
Cross-cut or confetti-cut shredders cut rectangular, parallelogram, or diamond-shaped shreds. Cardboard shredders that are designed specifically to shred corrugated material into either strips or a mesh pallet. Particle-cut shredders create tiny square or circular pieces.
This one seems quit secure. Disintegrators and granulators repeatedly cut the paper at random until the particles are small enough to pass through a mesh. (very secure) Grinders which grinds paper to small pieces.(very secure) Spending under or around 250 USD on a shredder for office use is decent.
The Fellowes DS-1 Fashion Shredder seems good. Other choices could be the Staples Mailmate M3 12-Sheet Shredder, the Aurora 31215 12-Sheet Medium-Duty Cross-Cut Shredder or the Fellowes Powershred DM-12C 12-Sheet Cross-cut Shredder.
CD's, or DVD's) as well as the volume of items you need to shred. If only shred junk mail, old bills, personal papers (up to 6 sheets at a time) daily then a small inexpensive shredder will do,(about $25-$35.) However if you have many documents to shred then you may want to invest in something a little more substantial that can handle up to 10-15 pages at a time. And as I mentioned earlier if you need to shred CD,s or DVD's then you definitely will need to spend a bit more money.
The one I purchased from Walmart at about $30 serves my purpose.
Well, you want to kick ass and you want low cost. It depends on how shredded you want them, and that price range is about right. Do you want it reduced to ribbons or to dust?
Twenty bucks will get you ribbons, that's about it. If you really want to pulverize the stuff, though, you may have to notch up that budget to this.
The best answer is Ebay. All good electronic equipment with a nice price is all there. If you want a paper shredder with kick ass and low cost, then search it on Ebay.
Don't think of cost; Think of how it shreds. The tiniest piece cuts are the best and harder to put together.
$1. I found mine at a garage sale. It works just fine.
:o).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
