How much structure would you want in your toddler's learning environment, considering his/her short attention span?

I think in the case of toddlers you're better off turning learning into play time.. any attempt at traditional study time or courses would be wasted on a toddler. Introducing letters ans sign language is no issue as long as you do so in a fun way. I have already began teaching my son numbers, colors, german and letters at 1 1/2.

Just as an example say he's playing with trucks I would say something like "Oh you have two trucks one is blue ..." and point to the blue truck, "..and one is green and point to the green truck" and then count while pointing one, two. If I put my toddler in a learning faculty such as head start (3-5 year) it would be more for the social aspect..time to play with other kids.

I feel that sometimes they throw too much at young children and expect them to grow up too fast. I think at that age they need to know how to play with other children and socialize. If they happen to learn numbers and colors while they are playing, then all the better.

A more structured educational plan for that young of a child is ridiculous. They will have plenty of time for education in the coming years.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
