Guys/Gals, I guess I should have been more specific when I said bike. I meant Mountain Bike. Most manufacturers ship their brake sets as a complete unit.
The brake lever has the master cylinder built in. The brake line goes from the lever to the caliper. They typically come from the manufacturer filled and pre-bled.
They do this because the process of bleeding the brakes can be very finicky. For many manufacturers' brakes, it makes bleeding the brakes on a car seem easy in comparison. Additionally, the only way of getting fluid into the brakes on most brake systems is to open a small bleed port on the brake lever or caliper and inject the fluid using a syringe.
On other systems, the master cylinder has a cap that is screwed down and sealed with an o-ring. Either way, it's completely sealed. I reached out to a bike shop in the UK to see if he ships via royal mail to other countries and he says he ships brand new brake sets (manufacturer pre-bled) all the time.
I'm torn on what to do. Logically speaking, the brakes won't leak unless the box is severely damaged. But is it worth taking the risk?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
