How old should a child be before you can leave them home alone for short periods of time?

The age of majority in Illinois is 18 (the age when you can leave home without parental/guardian permission). That said, your parents would have to put the thumbscrews on the police to have you returned since they normally don't put as much emphasis on 17 year olds leaving home as they would, say, a 14 year old. Are you willing to take the chance?

Worst case scenario, you could go into the juvenile court system as a runaway and be forced into foster care until you reach 18.

The age to move out is 18. If you runaway, your parents can in fact have you dragged back kicking and screaming. They can have you declared incorrigible and have you thrown in juvie.

They can have your drivers license revoked. Being a runaway means you cannot do anything without parental signature, ie school, identification, registering for anything Your parents can call your job and insist they let you go. They can take you out of school.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
