I'm not sure there is a magic number. I have swore in front of my kids and I'm also sure that they hear swear words that are worse than those I use in other places like school, online and on the television. The most important thing is to teach them that these words are not polite to use in a normal day to day conversation.
Let them know that when they grow up they can choose to swear or not but to always be respectful in front of others and curb the urge to swear. I am 37 years old and I still don't swear in front of my mother. Whether you swear or not it is more important to show people around you some respect by not swearing.
When they move out of the house they can swear in front of me. What they do with their friends that I don't hear is their business. And this has always been the house rule.
And yes I've cursed in front of them since they were young.
I swear a lot because my family swears a lot. However, I wish to stop this family tradition. I can't live without swear words myself, but I think people can live without swear words.
I know that swearing is like taboo in some cultures. In this cultures, it is possible to meet people who never swear. I would like my kids to be like such people.
I think swearing is only a necessity when you grow up with it. I try to discipline myself now. Swearing is a waste of energy.
The energy can be used for more productive endeavors.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
