I already wonder why there wasn't more protection there in the first place.
Since he didn't have "48 hours notice of a pending attack on the Embassy in the Middle East", contrary to right wing talking points, the question is moot. Do the right wing web sites that perpetuate this crap bother to point out that all diplomatic missions in the region were on heightened alert due to the 9/11 anniversary? That's been standard procedure since 2002.
What I find ironic is that the right has provided proof that the embassy in Cairo knew about the video and was taking steps to ease tensions. In a disgusting cheap shot, Romney criticized the embassy staff for issuing a statement denouncing the film. They knew about it BECAUSE Washington had told them.
And as it turned out, the embassy itself was never seriously threatened, nor was the embassy in Libya. What was attacked was a fairly new consulate several hundred miles from Tripoli, where the embassy is located. "If you think this is a conspiracy theory or that I am wrong, fine, prove it."
That's like saying "Neil Armstrong never walked on the moon. If's I'm wrong, prove it.". It's up to you to provide proof to assertions that run counter to the known facts.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
