How to generate unique numbers inside a UDF (SQL Server)?

CRYPT_GEN_RANDOM gets around the NEWID() limitation.

In DB2 I use the microsecond portion of the timestamp but SQL server only goes to milliseconds. I suspect that wouldn't be good enough?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
