Step 1 Download anti-virus software if you currently do not have such software on your computer. There are several available and some of the very good ones are actually free for personal usage. Avast!
Anti-Virus offers a free personal edition that is very good and is located avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html. AVG Free Anti-Virus is another excellent choice and can be downloaded from free.avg.com/us-en/homepage. Step 2 Visit the Microsoft update site in order to see if your computer needs any updates. It is vital to keep your operating system up-to-date since many of the software updates that release includes security updates.
Before you can begin removing the virus, the operating system needs to be fully updated. Step 3 Update your anti-virus software by clicking on the menu and choosing "Setting" or "Update." It is important to always keep the definitions updated on anti-virus software since new viruses are constantly circulating.
Your anti-virus software sends out updates (called "definitions") for you to install. Step 4 Scan your computer using your anti-virus software and choose a thorough or deep scan so that it scans the entire file system. This can take several hours depending how many files you have to scan.
As the scanner detects viruses, it may pop up a question asking what to do with it. Choose "Quarantine" or "Delete." Step 5 Select the setting on your anti-virus software to download new definitions automatically.
This will ensure you are always up-to-date and secured from computer viruses.
The AV advice isn't going to help you out unless you get an AV on a live CD or bootable media. I'd rule out its not a Windows error or Hard Drive corruption error. (Trying booting into Safe Mode; hold down F8 at boot up) If it is a virus I'd get your data off using the methods afore mentioned and reinstall.
This often requires knowing the keyboard combination to press at boot.. to launch the reinstall paration. Or you'll need the install CDs. Make sure you have AV installed an updated before you reintroduce your archived data.
Unfortunately, you have not provided enough information for us to give a complete answer. Use of an anti-virus system might detect if you have a virus and it may be able to remove it, but that is not a guaranteed solution. For example, this may not be a virus.
If you downloaded the Windows 7 Release Candidate (aka Beta), and it is rebooting itself, then you have encountered Microsoft's security measure. In order to prompt people to quit using the Release Candidate and buy a full license, the RC now reboots spontaneously. The only fix for this is to install a fully licensed version of Windows or a different operating system.
You may be able to purchase a license of 7 and do an in place install. However, if this is a virus, you can begin by scanning with anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-adware, and/or anti-spyware programs. These programs may be able to find and remove the problem, but it isn't guaranteed fix.
If you would like additional help, there are some specific details you can provide for us to look at: - What OS are you using (if it is Windows, specify the version like Windows XP Home Basic Edition) - What anti-virus scanners have you tried already? - Describe the behavior in detail. I understand it is forcing restarts, but does the screen flicker, do certain programs freeze, is there anything else happening right before it restarts each time?
- Where do you think you got the virus (email, web site, etc) - Have you downloaded anything recently? From email or the internet. I would like to give you a more complete answer if you can give us some more information on your problem.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
