I am about to apply for a used car loan & also a credit card within days of each other. Which should I apply for 1st? My credit score is between 675-690, but I need to apply for both these loans within a week of each other, maybe sooner.

Which loan should I apply for first to lessen the damage a hard pull on my credit report will cause? Asked by Frae 54 months ago Similar questions: apply car loan credit card days 1st Business > Financial Planning.

Car Loan first.. here's why.. They're both going to make it to the credit reporting bureaus quickly.. so it's a matter of deciding which is most important to You! Definitely the Car Loan first.. since it will be a Larger principal amount, for a longer period of time. Also because it's important these days to have a nice reliable vehicle.. *that* will affect your life, your family, and your job.. in the long run for years to come.

Credit Card offers come and go.. but folks only buy cars every so often! In fact.. having a Car Loan for a certain period of time establishes that you pay your monthly car payments reliably! It can prove your credit-worthiness in the eyes of creditors.

This may actually *help* you to apply for Credit Cards later on down the road also! Worst case scenario.. you can always get a Secured Credit Card anywhere, and/or start off with lower limit credit cards. Not gonna insult your intelligence, but I highly recommend the following movie "Maxed Out: Hard Times, Easy Credit and the Era of Predatory Lenders (2006)http://imdb.com/title/tt0762117/..I'm not a pessimistic person, but there's more at work in the financial industry than pure optimism alone!

This movie touches on some very good points that affect MOST Americans today! * Some good online resources:-FTC - Facts for Consumers: What You Need to Know about Credithttp://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/gettingcredit.shtm-Federal Reserve Board - Cosumer Handbook to Credit Protection Laws & Applying for Credithttp://www.federalreserve.gov/pubs/consumerhdbk/apply.htm-Recent Fico Score changeshttp://credit.about.com/-Five Worst Mistakes to Avoid when Buying a Carhttp://financialplan.about.com/od/mortgagesandloans/a/CarMistakes.htm-the Cost of Using Credit Cardshttp://financialplan.about.com/cs/creditdebt/a/CostCreditCards.htmGood luck, happy car shopping! :o) Sources: http://banking.about.com/od/loans/bb/autoloans.htm .

1 Under 700 doesn't look that great for a car loan to begin with. You're probably going to pay pretty high interest, unless you have tons of positive credit, which I doubt because your score is even lower than mine. I'll post some suggestions once the answer closes.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
