You can download ebooks from ANY site that offers them in the kindle format. Not all sites do that. I've seen some that offer ebooks only for the nook, for example.

But if your library does offer them in the kindle format, and I would imagine libraries do, you can download them for your kindle. My husband and I both get free ebooks from several sites, including Amazon, and the only reason we haven't gotten any from our library is cause we haven't seen anything of interest. There are numerous websites that offer lots of tips and help for new kindle owners too.

Consider the Kindle. It toileth not, neither doth it spin. Yet all the other eReaders of the field are not so gloriously adorned.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
