Ditto everything anmldr said, I have 3 cats I feed Science Diet, and it is true they poop less, and virtually NO smell, plus you don't need to feed as much as you would a cheaper food. Also toys, lots of toys, and NEVER use your hands as toys to play with your kittens, that creates biters, they need to learn that hands are not toys. And please do consider getting 2, IMO there isn't anything cuter than watching 2 kittens playing, they'll be less likely to destroy your stuff trying to amuse themselves if they have a buddy to play with.

And cats are very trainable, mine play fetch, hide and seek, tag. They know commands such as sit, stay, down, off, leave it, no, and of course "go get your toy" They've also been taught the kitchen counters are off limits, I can leave ANY type of food out and they will not jump up after it. I hope you will keep them as indoor cats, they will live a much longer happier life indoors, average indoor lifespan 15 years compared to 4-5 outdoors.

Many people are telling me to get 2 kittens..interesting I think I might do that! My daughter is going to TOTALLY freak..she will be ecstatic! Thanks everyone!

PS Please never , never give your cats milk, I have yet to have a cat that could tolerate it.

I am getting them from a neighbor who just wants to get rid of them. Thanks everyone for the advice! Lovenola 17 hours ago .

( please try to talk your neighbor into getting her cat spayed, shelters as you know are overflowing with kittens and puppies waiting for homes, Her unspayed cat just denied those shelter kittens a home, and if its not no kill shelter........... :`( .

Spay/neuter of course. And never ever make the mistake of trying to make sense of anything the kitten does. Cats are trainable; but they are more mercenary in nature than dogs are - dogs will perform to make you happy, cats will perform if it is of benefit to the cat.

The final bit of advice: dogs have owners, cats have staff.

1 good health =exam and vaccinations spay and neuter2 parasites = fleas / ticks and intestinal worms 3 grooming = coat kept clean and nails trimmed4 house proofing = remove temptations and dangers 5 nutrition =good quality food and fresh water 6 good behavior == house training socialization exercise toys you picked a pretty fool proof pet actually --- I will recommend 2 things --- cats that eat science diet are healthier and have less stool which doesn't smell as much as other diets -- seriously consider this --- secondly I know you are a bit tentative but it is actually easier to raise 2 kittens rather than 1 -- they have a playmate and a sleeping buddy and in general are easier to be around --- just something to think about --- and never expect a cat to do anything he doesn't want to -- it won't happen .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
