I am having burning sensation and pain on my scalp when I color my hair?

I had a brush where the beads on the end of the bristle broke off and it scratched my scalp. Whenever I dyed my hair after that it burned, I had my husband look and he said, yea theres a cut there.So you could just have a cut on the scalp. Have someone check where it hurts, and see if theres a cut or scratch.

If there is. Wait till it heals, then try to color again. Have you performed a sample test on your arm with the dye?

Mix a small amount of it together, and put some on your arm. If it burns there, you are allergic. The instructions will tell you how to mix.

If it is a burn from the dye - I have some info. There have been reports of people getting burns from hair dye. The dye strips the hair of natural pigment and replaces the color with a synthetic colorant.

Minor irritation is common, but severe burns are not often reported, but have happened. Water Works from Sally Beauty Supply is ammonia and peroxide free. You could try that to color your hair.

It sounds as though you are experiencing an allergic reaction to one or more of the ingredients in the hair colorant. I wonder if you have recently changed brands or if you have suddenly developed this reaction to a brand you have always used with no previous problems. It is certainly not normal to have this sort of reaction from a hair colorant and you have been very sensible to stop using them for now.
