I am looking for a book, but cannot remember the Author or title. Please Help! I read this book about 5-7 years ago.

The book was an African American Romance novel. It was about a girl who won a samba contest, then went to Brazil only to find out someone paid for her to win. I am looking for a book whose title and author I can't remember. Can anyone help? I read this book in junior high and loved it but can't remember the title for the life of me.It's about two sisters who move to the Great Plains so the older sister can marry a young pioneer she's never met.

They get together and all is well and good, except that the older sister is a bit too fragile for life on the frontier. She ends up dying in childbirth. Kind of convenient, because the more capable younger sister has fallen for her brother-in-law.

They decide to stay together and raise the child. At the end of the book, a devastating fire occurs, spreading quickly over the dry plains. The lovers and their child survive, facing the daunting challenge of starting anew.

I know, sounds kind of cheesy. But the romance plus the description of life on the frontier captivated me. If anyone can help, I'll be eternally grateful.

The Star Of The North I think the book name was "The Star Of The North" .

Help I am looking for a book that is about a woman, I believe her name is Claire, who is trying to have a baby with her husband, and when she can't, she turns to meditation, but when she lights the candles, her mind takes her back in time to one of her ancestors, who I think is named, Isabel. Her current day husband is trying to make her sell the castle in Scotland that has been in her family for generations. When she refuses, he tries to make everybody think she is crazy so he can get power of attorney so that he can sell it.

Isabel's husband isn't any better, he is mentally and physically abusive. Wish I could remember the author, but I read it when I was pregnant with my 16-year-old. If anybody can help me, I'd really appreciate it!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
