My book recommendations I read these two recently and they're both really good:Dear John (Hardcover)by Nicholas SparksPrice: $13.74 & eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25Hot on the heels of True Believer and sequel At First Sight, Sparks returns with the story of ne'er-do-well-turned-army-enlistee John Tyree, 23, and well-to-do University of North Carolina special education major Savannah Lynn Curtis. John, who narrates, has been raised by a socially backward single postal-worker dad obsessed with coin collecting (he has Asperger's syndrome). John bypasses college for the overseas infantry; Savannah spends her college summers volunteering.

When they meet, he's on leave, and she's working with Habitat for Humanity (he rescues her sinking purse at the beach). John has a history of one-night stands; Savannah's a virgin. He's an on-and-off drinker; she's a teetotaler.

Attraction and values conflict the rest of the summer, but the deal does not close. Savannah longs for John to come home; her friend Tim longs to have a relationship with her. On the brink of John and Savannah's finally getting together, 9/11 happens, and John re-ups.

Savannah's letters come less and less frequently, and before you know it, he receives the expected "Dear John" letter. Sparks's novel brims with longing. The Collectors (Hardcover)by David BaldacciPrice: $17.81 & eligible for FREE Super Saver Shipping on orders over $25.In bestseller Baldacci's entertaining if overly long sequel to The Camel Club (2005), renegade CIA agent Roger Seagraves has set himself up in the business of freelance assassination and selling our country's secrets to the highest bidder.

The Camel Club, a group of four dysfunctional crime solvers headed by ex-CIA assassin Caleb Shaw, becomes involved with Seagraves through a killing at the Library of Congress, where one of the club members works. Meanwhile, an enigmatic young woman, Annabelle Conroy, is assembling a team to engineer a "long con," a $33 million scam targeting Jerry Bagger, the sleazy owner of an Atlantic City casino. This time around, Baldacci wisely tones down the wackiness of the club members, focusing instead on bringing Seagraves to justice while Annabelle works her ingenious scam.

The splicing of the two plots is problematic, but Baldacci sacrifices a bit of believability to cobble together a new cast of characters destined to continue fighting the forces of evil in the next installment. Sources: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers/books/ref=sv_b_2/102-0623691-0552123 .

The Bible I am engrossed in reading the Bible cover to cover right now which is something I have never done. What gave me the encouragement is when I found out that the audio version of the Bible is under 80 hours, and I got to thinking... why have I not read it completely and yet I'm 37? Also, BGEA.org gives away a free religious book every month.

Just go to BGEA.org and click on "FREE THIS MONTH" which is found on the December homepage at the bottom right.
