I was not being "snarky" just concerned. Few years ago I went to the hospital for pre-op (foot surgery) blood testing. The nurse taking blood asked me if I was on Coumadin and I said not.My blood was so thin that they postponed the surgery afraid that I would start hemorraging.

I was taking all kinds of vitamin supplements and I had to stop all of them. We rescheduled three weeks later. Since that time I am cautious.

Hubby had decided to take baby aspirin (just in case...no one told him he needed it). He does karate and he was geting bruised easily. The doctor told him to stop with the baby aspirin.

It sounds like you need a better doctor. He should have given you that kind of info up front. You didn't know you had to lay off the Coumadin and you were going in for surgery?

I have to get off Coumadin to go to the dentist sooo you need to ask a lot of questions. Get educated and I am not being snarky either. Coumadin is a very serious drug.

I was NOT on Coumadin. The speed of my blood filling the tubes while doing the blood test alerted the nurse. Ended up the the mix of supplements I was taking thinned out my blood.

They don't stick the needles in far enough to dislodge any clots. It's fine. You might bleed a little longer than usual, but that's about it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
