I am running Vista Ultimate. I keep up with all updates. My system keeps hanging.

Sometimes its only a few seconds and other times its several minutes. Often I can clear it out but doing a ctrl-alt-del and then just canceling out to go back to windows. Other times I have to log out and then back in.

Other times I have to reboot. Sometimes it hangs hard and I have to power it off to reboot. Another issue which may or may not be related is that when the computer starts hanging it sometimes doesn't seem to recognize the left click mouse button.

Right one works ok. Even when the computer is running ok.... when I left click it often doesn't recognize it until I move the mouse a little. Its got me baffeled.

Any ideas? Could be a few things.. Run a memory tester - memtest86.com Try updating your graphic card drivers or roll back to an older nvidia driver. Do a BIOS update from your mobo manufacturure..

Sounds like a hardware problem When a computer hangs "for several seconds" but especially "for several minutes," it's probably waiting in some kind of a timeout ... waiting for a network maybe, but given the other things that you are experiencing it sounds much more to me like an intermittent hardware problem. You'll probably need some help on this one... after making very sure that everything is properly seated on the motherboard (turn power off first), have someone who really knows hardware run diagnostics on all the equipment. Windows also has a "system log facility" in which applications and the system itself can record messages for posterity. It's an Administrative tool.

If the hardware threw a recognizable I/O-error it will be logged there. If the software was in some kind of timeout it, too, should be logged there..

Very interesting. I have Windows Vista Ultimate and also have had problems with a slow/hung system. Most times... it turns out to be multiple applications running.

Other times it’s my Anti-Virus running a scan. If you computer was running fine when you first got it, and now has problems, it might be time to consider a few things to fix this. If the problem happened recently, consider using the restore utility to a point prior to the problem.

Try to swap out your mouse, with another one. Possibly you have a driver or hardware problem. Your Antivirus or some other program is running in the background.

This is taking up valuable system resources. Run cleanup utilities and Defrag your hard drive via your start, applications, system tools. You my have a virus or some kind of other badie on your computer.

Download and run Spybot Search and destroy to cleanup spyware on your computer. You can download it HERE. You may have other items or junk files incorrect on your computer.

Try downloading and running the three main tabs in Ccleaner. You can download it here. Ccleaner removes junk files, fixes your registry and allows you to control your startup programs and applications.

All of my suggestions above are free. All are tested and safe. I hope this advise helps you.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
