I am selling books for the first time with Amazon. I just noticed a "debit fee of $1.00" cjrg'd. Why?
My bank said Amazon chrg'd me and not them. I don't understand. I understand the commission fee chrg'd by Amazon, but why and where does the extra $1 fee come from?

That is a question that you need to ask Amazon directly. Askville is a Q & A social site, we aren't Amazon employees. I suggest that you contact Amazon Customer Service.
Even though in this case you're asking as a seller and not a customer, I think that they would be able to point you in the right direction. Here is some information about the best ways to contact Customer Service: Click on help at the top right hand side of the Amazon.com page (above cart and your lists). This will bring you to the Amazon help page.
About a quarter of the way down the page to the right you will see this button: "Get Express customer service or contact us by email or phone. Clicking on the above button will take you to a page where you will need to type in your email address and your password. Once you have done this you will be taken to a page that has three options: Express, Email and Phone.
Clicking on the Phone option will give you a couple of choices: you can have them call you back, or you can call them yourself on this number: 1-866-216-1072 or if you are calling from overseas 1-206-266-2992 You can also phone them at these numbers: US Customer Service Phone toll-free in the US and Canada: (800) 201-7575 Phone from outside the US and Canada: (206) 346-2992 or (206)-266-2992 Another direct line: (206) 266-10722 I have found that I received a quicker response when I phoned them myself, other than emailing them or waiting for them to call me. I've called them on the above phone number and found them to be extremely helpful. I hope this information is helpful for you.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
