Like her or hate her..... believe in what she stands for or not, I am thrilled to see an American citizen stand up to their elected representative and basically say... "I don't agree with what you are doing. You are not representing my interests. I am going to run against you to get my interests addresses.

" I think many of our elected officials live in a world where they purport to represent us, listen to our concerns and nod their heads in agreement, but then go on to support their party line or their money interests. Maybe its just how the system works, and I am naive to think it could be any different. Money is the driver of influence after all, not what you and I think our elected officials should do.

So not only do I wish her luck, I hope her suggestion to run may influence other citizens to at least pressure their elected officials more and perhaps consider trying to take their jobs if they don't listen.... But compared to Cindy Sheehan, Speaker Pelosi comes across like Joe Liberman in comparison. I'm sure that the media will lap up every outrageous thing that Cindy says and the Speaker's replies. I suspect that whoever loses will pull a Lieberman and go third party.

Waste of money There's absolutely no chance of her winning. It really won't even be a serious distraction to Pelosi. I know from your other answers that you're only interested because you think it will anger Pelosi, and it really won't work.

Even if Sheehan ran as an independent, it wouldn't take enough votes from Pelosi to let the Republican win. She won 80% of the votes in her district in 2006 and the Republican got only 11%; the remaining votes went to the even more liberal Krissy Keefer. Pelosi didn't even bother to debate Keefer, and she won't bother to debate Sheehan.

Sheehan is trying to force Pelosi to impeach Bush. You're right that impeaching Bush would be the best way to ensure a Republican victory in 2008, but Pelosi knows that and isn't going to do it. If it floats your boat to imagine Pelosi fuming over your check, go right ahead.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
