Laptop won't launch windows. Stuck on black screen, no flashing cursor. F8 not working, can't launch safe mode.
What do I do now?" The boot sector (at least) of your hard drive may be bad, RAM may be bad, or BIOS settings have become trashed. Any beep codes when you turn it on?
"Got windows warning for hard drive error yesterday. Backed up as much as possible. Was told by samsung today to check drive C for errors.
Laptop hasn't booted up since. I can access bios which displays hard drive. Would like one more shot at backup to another external drive.
Please advise, thank you" OK, then the drive has died, perhaps a bad platter. Data Doctors will not be the cheapest solution, but might minimize what you lose. You can remove the hard drive, plug it into a USB->SATA adapter (about $40), and it will behave like an external drive (if it spins up at all), and you can recover whatever you can find.
But your laptop is dead, until you put a new hard drive in it, and reinstall the operating system (you may have to buy a new copy, if you do not have the OS disk they remind you to make when they first power up). I'd recommend the USB->SATA adapter, and a new laptop (or a desktop).
Try going straight into the boot menu instead of BIOS. Look up your mobo to find which one. If that still doesn't work, Take the drive out and try plugging it in (externally) to another computer and look at it from there.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
