I can't remember the name or author of an English historical romance book I read years ago. It begins with a young, poor girl with a cockney accent and her dying father. I believe he worked in a factory.

The girl grows into a beautiful woman and is taught how to speak correctly. She is in love with an aristocrat & becomes pregnant with his child but he refuses to marry her. I can't recall the ending but the heroine has dark hair and violet eyes, IIRC.

I thought it was written by Judith McNaught but none of her books fit the description. It's not Whitney, My Love. Can anyone recall a book that fits the description?

You might try "A Fire in the Heart" by Katherine Sutcliffe. Characters are Bonnie Eden and Lord Damian Warwick.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
