I need help finding a book I read many years ago...I don't remember the title, but it is a historical romance?

I need help finding a book I read many years ago...I don't remember the title, but it is a historical romance..... This book is set in New Orleans or near there by the Mississippi River. The book begins with a young woman wandering near the humid shore...Somehow I think she may have been running from her father and an arranged marriage. A man or his children find the woman and takes her home with them where they realize she has contracted yellow fever.

After being given very little hope of the woman's recovery the man takes it upon himself to nurse her back to health and I remember the author describing the man soaking the front of his shirt with water he is using to bring the woman's fever down. Hopefully someone here is familiar with this book and can help me...I am quite desperate to find this book. Thank you.

I love reading historical romance novels too, especially set in the USA or UK. I have just read books by Mary McBride set in New Orleans, Bronwyn Williams set in North Carolina and Bay Matthews set in Louisiana. Try those authors and see what you find.

Put something in a search engine and see what comes up? I hope you find what you are looking for. In future perhaps you should keep a list of the books you enjoy.

I keep lists to know what I have bought/read before, to save duplication. Good luck.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
