Not date him. You don't want to hurt him, and that's a noble aim. There's a reason why God puts it as, "If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men" (Romans 12:18).

For some, being at peace or not hurting them is NOT possible. He likes you romantically, you like him Platonically. There's no way around that.

Give him a little now and you only are leading him to believe you feel something you don't--you lie to him. Finding out you lied to him will hurt MUCH more than merely finding out you don't want to date him.

Just be straight forward with him.. it may not be what he wants to hear but if you get into something you don't want to be in and he finds out later it will hurt him a lot more. Its better to tell him before things get serious. He deserves to know.

And I recommend telling him that your only being this honest with him because you do like him.

Just keep in mind that guys are more sensitive then they admit. Have you thought about you two going to different schools being a good thing? You wouldn't have to see him all of the time, it would give you two a chance to miss each other and would def.

Give you guys space to yourselves, too. Now, if he's as understanding as you say he is, then you should have no problem telling him that you're not interested in a relationship at the moment. It'd be a true test.

If he waits for you and stands by your side, then he might just be that special guy you've been waiting for. =) .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
