1 Try asking some of the professionals at the cancer center you were treated at. They will have lots of experience with the after effects of chemo. One member of my family had chemo (and is in remission now because of the treatment!).
Her hair went through several stages after the chemo. Naturally straight hair became curly. She successfully dyed her hair at a salon.
Over time the hair shifted back to normal; but, it took a little time.
2 A saloon won't change the color of your hair, but it may make you see pink elephants. :DJust kidding. Yes, a salon will be able to help.
A friend of mine recently completed his chemo, and his hair turned from curly and red to straight and snow-white. To be honest, it's the best his hair has looked in his entire life, and I told him so. My own hair is getting pretty gray, even though I've never had chemo and I'm only 45.
Curious7777777 was right, though - the first thing to do is talk to your doctor and the people at the cancer center.
Curious7777777 replied to post #2: 3 That is so weird that your friend had the exact opposite hair experience from my family member. If the doctor isn't much help, the nurse practicioners and social workers probably will be very helpful.
If you get the one that is the permanent dye. Your color may come back and you might also notice it is a different texture, which can also affect the absorbency of the hair dye. Some peope can get a good dye job after only 25 minutes, I need the full 45 on my hair.
Look at the boxes carefully when choosing your color, as it will come darker at first and then gradually lighten into the shade. On the side of the box they have a grade scale as well, cool, medium and warm colors, so for example, something with bit of red it in. Use what you think will match your complexion.
I use their 117, I am midbrown with a bit of red, and most of the time, have no roots for at least 12 weeks, then those little grays come back in or it gets so light, I dye it back down dark again. No need to go to a salon, it will cost a lot compared to the $8 or so for the clairol. It comes with a conditioner you use once a week as well, to keep the color locked in, and if you also want to keep it longer, use a good brand of color shampoo.
Good luck and all best wishes.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
