Because if you haven't seen a doctor yet, you definitely need to. This is way beyond simply "not normal."Kat .
I sure hope you are coming back to provide more details! What exactly have you tried so far? Are you on medications that cause constipation, like narcotics, or have you been diagnosed with a condition like mega-colon?
How long have you been dealing with this? I know you are suffering. Kat .
By the way, the medical term for severe constipation, like what you are prescribing, is obstipation. Sometimes people have to be admitted to the hospital to rule out problems like small bowl obstruction, and if there aren't any obstructions, you will be given medication and enemas to clear your colon out. Kat .
Well my husband has been pushing me to see a doctor about this.. I know that I should I just have issues with doctors.. this has been going on for over a year now.. I can go sometimes up to a month without going to the bathroom.. it becomes extremely painful and after taking tons of laxatives and I finally go I feel as if I am going to die.. I made an appt but its not until the 26th of this month.. I am just not sure I am going to make it.. sunbunnykim 1 month ago .
I am so glad to hear that you have made an appointment with a doctor. I know that must have been very hard for you to do! But 9/26 is almost three weeks away, which is way too long for you to continue to suffer like you are doing now.So I am going to ask you to do something even braver and more difficult: let your husband take you to the ER, so you can get this dealt with now.
Not sure what time zone you are in, but wait until daytime if you can, so that you can get your x-rays without a long delay, and begin getting treated. You have made the smart choice, to get seen and get this problem dealt with! But truly, the sooner the better, both in terms of getting this particular episode of constipation resolved, and in finding out what is causing the problem, so you can get guidance and assistance on how to prevent this from ever happening again.
From what you have written, I am not sure you can go another three weeks, do you? The time is now, today, to get treated and start feeling like a human being again! I will be here sporadically today, but if I can help you in any way, please just let me know.
Your priority now has to be to take care of yourself. It could literally save your life! Hugs,Katherine (RN)PS.
Once you do get treated, please post here again, and let me know how things turned out for you, and how you are doing, OK? .
Just wondering how you are doing now. Did you make it to the ER? Kat .
We have to assume there are no other medical complications since you have not mentioned any. Here is what I suggest you do. First, get to your doctor, request an enema ASAP.
Next, change your diet to one that is high in fiber, whole grains, fruits, vegetables, legumes, beans, etc. Stay hydrated and exercise regularly, walk, ride a bike, run, whatever works for you. Obviously that kind of constipation isn't normal, so hopefully lifestyle changes will help you fix it permanently. Good luck.
Peace, BosM aspx.
You need to get to a doctor, thats sooooooooo not right and can be very very dangerous. We can't give you advice, you are way beyond simple advice from strangers, you need a doctor! Your bowels, colon etc have got to be a mess, with all that toxic backup.
I agree with Casey. Do not try any home remedies at this point. They will want to do an x-ray of your belly and if turns our that the main problem is that you have the disease called FOS (medical term, y doc says), they will be able to give you laxatives and enemas.
FOS simply means full of s... and is used by medical staff. Seriously, you need to be seen tomorrow if you are not in pain, ER tonight if you develop abdominal pain.
Even when I was on Vicodin, I only went four days. See your doctor TODAY.

What happens if you don't have a bowel movement.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
