Based on a bunch of hubpage success stories, a lot of people make decent money off of Amazon products. It generally isn't as high as adsense though. I think a lot of it depends on whether or not you're selling/reviewing a specific product (which people could decide to buy based on your hub) or if you're writing a personal interest hub that just happens to have products on it.

I'm the latter so I don't sell a lot of amazon stuff, but I do get small amounts from books here and there.

It's true but yes I have sold lots of items thro' Amazon other than the ones that my links sent them there to buy. The expiry period is so short because there are so many affiliates and it wouldn't be fair if the lucky one who got the first click kept the commission for the next 30 days of Amazon visits.

The cookie length is crap.....but.....buyers trust amazon and are happy to buy from them without question. The conversion rate is excellent when compared to other affiliate programs because of this. When writing to sell amazon products you want to target your pages at people that are ready to buy and have their credit cards out already.

Through skilful copywriting you can convince them that now is the time to buy.

She's helped me understand a LOT about how all of this stuff works.

I couldn't really show you anyone else that I think knows more about this stuff, and that is any more successful at it.

I have been with Amazon now for over a year and have NEVER made anything from them. Now I just really use them in my hubs for the pics. So people can see what I am talking about and the prices they can expect to pay for an item.

Yes, a 24 hour cookie is correct. It is plenty long enough to make money. Many people are doing so.

The benefit to a cookie vs just a link is that we can collect commission on any products that are ordered during that 24 period. This is a great thing. I make several hundred each month.

Thankyou ppl. I think I'll be writing random and short articles. These articles most of the time will not be on any products or for sales, so Amazon may not be right for me.So I'll better focus on Adsense.

I personally have not tried to sell via Amazon even though I am signed up. Although I understand that many have used Amazon with some success, the commisions are low and I prefer using a cpa ad or other affiliate products in addition to adsense to earn money.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
