I had a drink this weekend that I really liked, and I'm wondering if it has a name: it was vodka with soda water and ... ... a splash of lime juice. Over ice. I think that was it.

Autodafe There is some debate as to what you had is an autodafe or gimlet. Most Gimlet recipes use gin, however, some claim that it is with vodka. If you want to be certain you get a drink with vodka instead of gin, I'd specify what ingredients you want, rather than just ordering it by name :0) Autodafe: drinksmixer.com/drink959.html A Gimlet made with gin: drinksmixer.com/drink3774.html mixed-drink.com/Gin/gimlet.html A Gimlet made with vodka: mixeddrinkrecipes.net/recipes/display/24... mixed-drink.com/Vodka/vodkagimlet.html .
1 Yep - its called a vodka gimlet! A 1928 description of the drink was: "vodka, a spot of lime, and soda" Gimlets can be made with gin or vodka .

2 Thank you so much! Now I can order it without describing it. We went to a vodka bar in Vegas this weekend and my husband got it for me, but didn't know the name!

3 Gimlets usually are just the vodka and lime juice, I'm pretty sure. Served in a short glass with a wedge of lime, no soda. They have probably changed since 1928!
As a former bartender, people would order "vodka tonic with a splash of lime" (but not usually soda water, although if that's your preference it would work as "vodka soda splash of lime! ). It's been awhile for me to bartend, so maybe it's got a new name.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
