I have experience with malamutes and diarrhea. Apparently some cannot digest soy - it's not an absorbable protein and they become ill. At the time, I had to have ANF dog food - chicken or lamb based, I can't remember, shipped to my state for a while.It did the trick.

The dog was fine when it was fed home made dog food or a very high quality chicken and rice or lamb and rice blend. Take the dog to the vet and ask about soy intolerance.

Food isn't going to house train a dog. If it has a tendency to need to go very frequently, then walk it quite often until the vet can advise you regarding what the problem may be. I never had problems training my pups but I always got up two or three times a night, took them out of their crate and carried them outside.

They adapted much better and faster. Pups are babies and babies need attention even if it's not a convenient hour.

I think as puppies that may be quite normal but I'm not a vet and its been a while since I raised puppies. My dogs not only lived a long time but I haven't had a dog since my last one died.

The food advice that others have given is sound. Rice is good for diarrhea, and for a dog with sensitive digestion; avoiding corn and "byproducts" is advisable. We have always fed twice a day, but I forget what the portion should be for such a small dog.
