Oils that come as part of a gift set, in this case with the oil burner, may not be pure essential oil, some have been diluted down to a small ratio, which doesn't give much staying power when it comes to burning. Other ways of getting the fragrance of the oil to fill a room would be to put a few drops on a tissue and place between radiator panels, or to add a few drops to the warm wax of a burning candle - avoiding the wick.
It also depends on the type of oil shop you're buying it from. There are 'oils' and there are 'oils'. There are some sellers that dilute their oils so drastically for expense sake and this reflects in the quality of the product.
Alcohol can typically cause an oil to evaporate quickly and lessen the strength of the aromatics since alcohol itself dissipates into the air pretty quickly. Before making a fragrance oil purchase, ask the seller how much of a ratio is there between the oil and the dilutant or seek out shops that have a better reputation for quality.
Peppermint oil is a top note, which means it evaporates very quickly. Make sure you are using water in the burner, with just a few drops of oil, and try mixing in a little black pepper or pine oil. These are both middle notes and have a similar refreshing scent.
This mix will last longer.
Sammyantha, where do I get black pepper because I'm sure you're not talking about what I sprinkle out of the shaker at dinner time! Is it an oil?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
