If you don't mind a "how patriotic" reaction, a light blue might be nice. With white cabinets, you can safely go bold with the wall colors, such as a brick red. I'd say take a sample of the red to the paint store, and see what makes it "pop" .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
