I have been awake for 70 hours. What is the longest amount of time you have ever been awake?

Wow! Party on! I am someone that can simply not function without sleep.

I think I went about 24 hours without sleep once. It was because I was not feeling well and I just could not sleep at all.

I tried to pull an "allnighter" once in college just for the experience, but went to sleep sometime after midnight. Yes. That was pretty sad.

Twice at my job I was up for 34 hours. I work in the AV/Hospitality field and you're at the mercy of the hotel. If the keep booking groups one right after another you get no break.

I had time to drive home, shower and come back. Plus the fatigue created a pain that I've neve felt. A weird achey pain that you couldn't shake.

My record (I was in gh School) was 5 1/2 days. Right around 130 hours.

And I will say that along with the difficulty functioning on a normal level that after the third day the mind really starts playing tricks on you. I kept seeing things that weren't there and answering people who weren't talking to me.

I have worked graveyard shift for about 8 of the last 10 years, and I frequently work two jobs, so I routinely go 2 or 3 days without sleep sometimes, and I pay the price for it every time.

Definitely think it's unhealthy to deprive yourself of sleep for any significant length of time.

Alright!...the longest for me...kinda forget exactly how long (of course! )...3 days +- the thing I totally remember is that at a certain point (about 36 hours awake) I 'lost the power of speech'.

It was great! To this day I recall the scene, someone came up to me and asked a very, very simple question, like "which way to?..." or "what time is it"? ...or was it, ".

Anyway, 2 minutes into my answer I actually thought to myself, "hey! I'm not making any sense at all"!...then I went back to answering the question...

I think the next time I realized I was not coherent, I stopped talking. Just like that, stopped.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
