I have both a satellite and roof signal-sequences? roof: signal booster-dtv converter-sat box... sat:sat box-vcr/dvd-tv?

Roof: signal booster-dtv converter-sat box... sat:sat box-vcr/dvd-tv I want to keep the roof antenna because dish sat goes out during storms...just when I need it most! Also if I need to drop sat due to finances. I don't want to have to manually switch anything.

There is a place on sat box for the antenna signal input so I think my sequence is o.k. But :):):) you tell me:):):) also I need to split the signal to go to another tv in another room which has its own sat box. I want the second room to have both the sat and roof signals.

I have a splitter box that plugs in and looks kinda like a transformer. Where do I insert a splitter to go to this? Since I don't need a dvd/vcr in the second location I am thinking I can split between the first sat box out-put and the dvd /vcr player.

One output would go to tv the other to the transformer /splitter thing. The signal is combined and sent to the second room on one wire by using diplexers.Do I need a dtv converter box there? Do I hook into antenna input or sat input on this second sat box?
