I own a home health agency and for some reason people think that there was a law that said that employers were required to provide health coverage. Employers did so in order to obtain and retain workers. The new laws that will come in effect will find me letting people go, and that I really hate for I believe that they are family not employees, but my largest expense is in payroll and benefits.
We are not a huge company so the new laws have hurt my co-workers not helped them. Not to mention the fact that it puts more people out of work, I am not alone in this, we will see an even larger number of people unemployed as these laws go in effect. I equate this to the same mistakes the leadership of japan made when they made the rash decision to get into the war during world war 2 by bombing hawaii.
Like them obama and the dems made hasty and rash decisions that will cause this country alot of turmoil. They should have given more thought and listened to the people prior to their acts. Our healthcare system was in need of change but there was better way to go about it.
The problem here is that the employer does not get any new fees it's just a scapegoat for them to save money. Take my job, I get a statement saying how much they pay for me to have healthcare. They pay out $13,768 a year for me to have insurance and I pay in so much a month on top of that.
Its a way for bad employers to say heck lets drop the coverage and save 13k a person and blame it on the HCR bill. Plus the fact that insurance rates have been increasing for the last 10 years and just now people are crying is a bigger reason that people want a cop out and they found it. If we had the public option that the republicans whine about so much it would have been a great bill but now all the bill does is make it so that you can't get dropped if you get a condition and they can't deny you with a pre-exisiting condition which doesn't effect very many people but to those that it does effect it is HUGE.
Think about coming down with something at the age of 25, say a cancer that you beat, for the rest of your life you can not get any health care because your risk is so high that no insurance carrier will pick you up. HCR was great but people are making so much and using it as a scapegoat.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
