Yes, but... you will have to wait a couple of weeks after the dark die job before you attempt to do the blonde. You need to have good healthy hair too. And make sure that your hairdresser knows that you have died it, when, and what product/color you used to die it.

Most dark colors are deposit only dies, so they don't do too much damage to your hair. The lightening process is different, though. If you really want a good blonde, it will require a very strong bleach, which does an extreme amount of damage to your hair.

Also, pay attention to the base color of the dark die you used. If it is a red base, you will get more copper when you bleach it. If it is a violet or blue base, you should be able to get a nice blonde, but your colorist needs to make sure they use a violet/blue based bleach.

If your dark color was red based, you will need to have a tint done over the bleach to reduce the copper tones, and it should be a green based tint. They will need to condition your hair really well to restore all the moisture lost from the bleaching process. You may still have breakage on the bleached part, this process really damages your hair.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
