When you turn 65. As far as I know you have to be 65 and not just have Medicare because you qualify for disability insurance before that age. Today more and more doctors are refusing to treat people who have only Medicare.

And doctors who are treating people with Medicare now are sending out announcements that while they will continue to treat existing patients, they will not be accepting any new patients with Medicare. There may come a time when you can't find a doctor who will treat you unless you have some form of secondary private health insurance.

I wanted a secondary insurance that used the F area, paid for all deducts, I could name all doctors, Paid for a required medical procedures, I paid nothing extra and under $300.00 per month. Licensed in the state of Texas... found it. Find out who is licensed in your sate, ask for their plan F, and how much?

Check with all your doctors what insurance they accept. You can also go to medicare. Gov and see waht insurance plans are available in your state and county.

It depends on the company but if you look into aarp they run a secondary insurance thats normal just call and talk to them .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
