You can't auto forward so import contacts and let your friends know your you have a new mail add, but leave the old account, as time goes by you will get less and less mail there but someone may be unaware of your new mail address so keep it just in case. You can delete it after some time.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
