I have Time Warners smallest cable package, regular channels and one or two cable channels. Any way to get more cable channels for free?

There is an inline filter on your cable line where the rg-6 attaches to the trunk either in the lockbox at the top of the pole or where your neighborhood junctions this filter blocks all the frequency you don't pay for and yes this is something that is audited.

Weakest link's always a human. Call them to get a technician out, then bribe him. The old methods are the most effective.

If you want a free legal way of improving your options you should call customer support and explain to them you are unhappy with your service and you are thinking of switching to satealite because they offered you a better package when you talked with a rep, explain you are of course willing to keep your current provider if they can add a few more channels or cut you a deal, but you are not interested in HBO or any of those packages. They really love to push "free" HBO (free for 6 months).

Time Warner in my area provides access to digital broadcast channels that cover the geographical service area for free (even with sub-basic cable service). In my area, that equals about 12-15 additional HD channels for free (if you have an HDTV). Your mileage may vary.

Although, nowadays, you could probably get away with getting a Netflix subscription for movies & TV re-runs and a Hulu Plus subscription for current-run TV shows. Hook up a computer you already own to your TV and you'll be ready to go...

My dad used to work for adelphia cable until he got laid off this was years and years ago but now he works at a company called ppc I asked him this same question a couple years ago. Follow you're cable line and locate the filter it will either be in the gray box on the side of your house which is easy to get into if you know how or at the junction on the telephone pole where you're cable comes off. He says the easiest way to do it and make sure you don't get caught because you will get a huge fine and other nastiness is to remove the filter then remove the innards then basically use wire to link the two ends and then finish off by making it look as close to original as possible then reinstall it back into the line.

The best thing to do is to buy an identical filter and leave one intact and just before you have them cancel your service to put the working filter back in place so they see no problem with it. Another way would be to cancel you're cable service and buy a sling box and have someone you know that has cable to connect it to their cable but I've never seen one work so I don't know how well they work. I've also heard of people momentarily putting 110vac through their cable line to blow the filter but I don't know if that works either and here is some other cable related info I found.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
