I have two female dogs, one just had puppies, my other female is trying.. to take over on the breast feeding, (blossom) the mother is very upset over this and (chickie) the other female is trying her hardest to sneek around to get to the babies, if we are holding a babie she will do everything in her power to get the puppy away from us to breast feed it, she now has breast milk, how is that possible. False Pregnancy It's called a false pregnancy, and while it may seem cute, you probably need to separate these two dogs. Nothing can start a deadlier fight amongst 2 bitches than a fight over their young. Females that go through false pregnancies sometimes go all the way through a false whelping, and yes, they canand often do get milk as well.

False pregnancies are psychologically very hard on the dog, and the dog can suffer from severe depression as a result. Also, dogs that go through false pregnancies tend to have a much higher rate of pyometra, a deadly uterine infection that comes on suddenly, and can kill a dog very quickly if not treated immediately with surgery. I highly recommend spaying a female that has had a false pregnancy..

Maternal sympathy She is suffering a phantom pregnancy. Obviously that mothering instinct is in her and she desperately wants to fulfill that. But, she should not be allowed near the real mother's pups, or this may stress the mum into losing her milk, reject her pups or fight with Chickie and may cause injury.

You could keep them seperated and only allow them outside at alternating intervals and feed them seperately. Your vet could prescribe something to dry her milk or even to settle her down so she loses interest by herself. The other alternative is to allow her to have a litter of her own.

This is only if it's practical. If one litter of pups is too hard to house, then maybe another might not be such a good idea. Perhaps you could try asking your local animal shelter workers or a dog breeder for advice.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
