I just bought a new piece of carry-on luggage. The wheels make it 23 inches long instead of 22. Is this bad?
Dimensions are supposed to be 22 x 14 x 9, this one is 23x14x9. Is one extra inch going to be a problem for me? I'm flying international on American Airlines.

I think you will be ok I just looked at the American Airlines website, and it says this for international flights: Guidelines For Tickets Issued On Or After October 1, 2005 Type of baggage Number Allowed Size Allowed (length + width + height) Maximum free weight allowed Carry-on 1 45 in/114 cm 40 lbs/18 kgs. Checked 2 62 in/157 cm each 50 lbs/23 kgs $25 USD charge each for bags weighing 51-70 lbs. So your dimensions of 22+14+9=45 inches, which is exactly right!
I think the luggage companies know the dimensions and the restrictions so if it's a new piece of luggage it should be in compliance. Sources: aa.com/content/travelInformation/baggage... *Poppet*'s Recommendations Rick Steves 21 in. Roll Aboard .
1 thanks for answering, but I think you misread a bit. The dimensions of my luggage are 23x14x9=46, not 22x14x9 = 45. I'm worried about that extra inch.

2 As long as it will fit in the "sizing" box it will be fine, I am sure. But, to be safe, call the airline. They will tell you for sure and it's better to know in advance than to get there and find out you have a problem.
I would guess that they aren't going to have a problem with the wheels extending the size of the luggage. When most people measure something like that they measure the actual suitcase, not handles or anything else that stick out.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
