I just noticed that Askville now has spellchecker for Answers, not just for Questions as it's been since 12/11/ 2007... As yet, there isn't a "Blog" announcement from the Askville Team about the addition of spellchecker for Answers. I don't know about you, but I am ecstatic about the new feature. I purposely spelled some words incorrectly in an answer today, and our trusty new spellchecker picked up on my spelling errors.
Now, let's see how many of us use spellchecker for our Answers...This doesn't appear to be a Question, so I'll try to bring that into this. What other features are you wishing Askville will add to make our experience using this site better? Here's my feature which I believe the Askville Team needs to fix:They need to update their spellchecker dictionary.
Come on Team, we really need to have the word "Askville" added to the dictionary! How many times do we have to click the "Ignore" button when the spellchecker dictionary wants to replace "Askville" with "Asheville? " Or some other word.
There's the word "Blog" which spellchecker suggests be replaced with "Blob. " Asked by? Lin?

I can't see it, but it does not make a difference for me anyway! I use FireFox and it has an embedded spell checker. I am not excited if they add spell checker!
One way to get rid of ignoring "Askville" every time you spell check your text is to press "Learn" and this will add "Askville" to your dictionary and will not take it as a mis-spelled word next time you do the spell check! Where is the spell checker?! Why do I not see it?!
I think the most important feature that we desperately need is topic maintenance. I am tired of seeing mis-spelled and similar topics around Askville. I also want a tie-breaker when there is a tie for BA Ribbon.
Askville could send a notice to say 3 Askvillers to pick the BA for a question when there is a tie. More or less similar to what they have for appeals, except that the people do not rate answers, they just pick the BA! Paradise.

Complete the stubs. The thing that seems most lacking to me is the "private messaging", which is strictly from hunger. There's no threading, no search, no archive, no "quoting" of messages, no formatting. It's obviously something that they just threw together for a rough draft, and it's sorely in need of update.
Next, it's time to revamp the discussions system. I'd like to see threads, especially with the ability to relegate lengthy flame wars off to a closed thread so that legitimate conversation can occur in other threads. It would be much easier to be able to follow a conversation if they were presented in something other than simple chronological order. It would also be nice to be able to use the same editor for discussions that we use to answer questions.
Sometimes I'd like to be able to create an illustration, for example.(Though I must admit that I like the simplicity of pure text, and fear that formatting features would be fraught with peril.) It would be nice to be able to search our own answers and discussion comments. If they want to get really advanced, perhaps it's time to open up an API so that we can create custom Askville clients. Then we could solve some of those problems in an open-source participatory fashion ourselves.
They've rightly concentrated their work on the asking-and-answering part of Askville, and the scoring. I'm pretty content with the state of those.(People will gripe about ratings forever, but I don't see any system that will make everybody happier. ) So I'd like to see them finish up the rest of the site where they've just stubbed out the rest of the features..
No Big Deal It’s not a big deal if you are using a real web browser like Firefox that already has a good spell checker built in. It’s only of use if you use junk like IE or AOL for access. Time to move up to the real world.

1 JBENZ, regarding your answer "No Big Deal": You're answer is insulting. Perhaps you could have used the discussion board to make your comments. I am aware that my question was rather long, but if you took the time to read the entire question, you may have even gotten to the part where I asked the following:"What other features are you wishing Askville will add to make our experience using this site better?
"If you didn't have any features which would make your experience using this site better, then all well and good for you.

2 Sorry, I didn't mean to be insulting. My point was simply that the Askville spell checker isn't very good to start with (with all the flaws you noted) and it's essentially superfluous if you are using a good browser. As far as improvements go, that time would have been better spent on finally doing the super powers for Level 3 and up, getting Questville up and running and coming up with a "tiebreaker" for the Best Answer problem where nobody wins if the raw scores are the same.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
