To my knowledge, being a travel agent does not require any kind of previous world travel. An idea of distances (like how far away Italy is) is good to know, but a map in front of you can help if you're not sure. What I believe most of what a travel agent does, is logistics - meaning, buying plane tickets, reserving hotel rooms, booking limousines, researching potential tours your customer can do while in the country, etc.None of that requires any more knowledge than simple politeness, the ability to barter if needed, and attention to detail.
You can read more about travel agencies here, to get a better idea of their services: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travel_agent You can also call up travel agencies and either ask on the phone some questions you have, or arrange to make an appointment with someone who works there that can give you a better idea of what the job is like. I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
