Thanks! I guess I'm just worried that the Kindle I buy in the US will be designed only for US 3g networks and will not work fully in Ireland. It's not very clear, but I *think* it will be ok.

And I am no expert, which is why I suggest you call Amazon as soon as you hit US soil. :) Even if you end up buying your Kindle from a local store, like Staples or Target, you want to be absolutely sure that you get the right model, that will work for you in Ireland. And just a caveat: I would buy direct from Amazon, not one of the stores that carry the Kindle.

You can have it shipped overnight to your hotel, or 2-day to a friend's house or business address, if need be. If problems do arise, it will be much easier to get assistance, repair, or replacement through Amazon than it will through one of the chain stores. Also, the salespeople at the chain stores don't know much about the Kindles, so they may not be able to give you accurate information about using a Kindle outside the US.LV and NY!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
