I too get these calls, about ten each day. I NEVER answer the phone unless I am expecting a call. I let all calls go to the TAD (Telephone Answering Device).
If it sounds interesting I pick up. Some States forbid "Caller ID" (for privacy Issues). Telemarketers establish Call Forwarding centres in these states.
Telemarketers use an (illegal in my state) auto-dialer. These computers call a prescribed list of numbers constantly. If someone actually picks up the call is instantly transferred to the live telemarketers, who will continue the conversation.
If all the telemarketers are busy it will let the call drop and try again later. My TAD if it does not hear a voice in six seconds disconnects and does not record the call attempt. If the caller talks then it will record up to three minutes.
Telemarketers DO NOT use their own calling lists. They Buy them from other sources. This way they do not have to worry about "No Call" statutes.
You can ask to be removed from "Their" list and they can say "sure", because the next call will be made from another purchased list, not theirs. Fed: 47 C.F.R. § 64.1601(e). Any person or entity that engages in telemarketing ... must transmit caller identification information.
Only 36 states require Calling ID from telemarketing originating from them. http://www.inceptresults.com/pdfs/StateF...
It is a robo-call or telemarketing call. They are on auto dial and call random numbers. If someone picks up sometimes all the people on their end are on other calls so no one answers.
No reason to be scared about it. I NEVER answer calls with hidden numbers; I figure if someone really needs to talk to me they will leave a message.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
